No. All Meyer Optik Görlitz lenses are completely manual, have no electronics and do not communicate with the camera.

All Meyer Optik Görlitz lenses are designed for full-frame sensors (KB).

Yes. This is where the crop factor comes in. Since our lenses are designed for full-frame sensors, the crop factor must be taken into account when using them on cameras with smaller sensors.

The crop factor is 2 for Micro-Four-Thirds (MFT) cameras, 1.6 for Canon APS-C cameras and 1.5 for all other APS-C cameras. Basically, the angle of view of the lens becomes blurred, so that a smaller image section is captured than would be the case with the same motif structure in full format. The focal length of the lens does not change, but the smaller image section gives the impression that a longer focal length would be used. Example: The Primoplan 75mm and a Canon APS-C camera (factor 1.6) behave like a 120mm focal length on a full frame camera - 75mm x 1.6 = 120mm.

Basically, the lenses can be used on current cameras according to the bayonet version. We offer our lenses with Nikon F, Canon EF, M42, Pentax K, Sony E, Fuji X, MFT, Leica M and Leica L mounts.

We do not recommend any manufacturer directly, but you should use well-known or established and tested adapters. Otherwise, production deviations of the adapter may result in poor imaging performance. The simplest solutions are sufficient, since no transmission of electronic or mechanical information is necessary.

In your camera, you must set the camera to trigger without a lens. Since the lens does not communicate with the camera, the camera "thinks" that no lens is connected. After adjusting the setting, the camera should shoot photos.
